We will be holding the Setsubun Festival again this year!

Sanzo Inari Shrine Setsubun Festival
◆Date and time: Sunday, February 2, 2020, 19:00-20:30
◆Yutate Shinto Ritual from 7pm
Water is boiled in a large cauldron, a blessing is offered to the boiling water, coins are thrown into the water, the water is further heated using goma sticks, and the boiling water is then scattered over bamboo leaves to ward off evil spirits.
After the ritual, the coins that were thrown in are scooped up with a ladle, and the amount of money thrown in is used to predict the financial fortune of the year. Business people borrow money to use as funds, while individuals put them in a bag (available for purchase at the shrine for 1,000 yen) as a talisman to help them save money and put it in their wallet, and the following year they offer more than double the amount to the shrine as an offering of gratitude.
